Adriatic Shrimps – Dalmatian Buzara
Garlic, wine, tomatoes, and herb blend flavor this quick and easy Adriatic shrimp recipe. In an hour, you can have this dish on the table. Buzara style cooking usually involves using olive oil, wine, garlic, breadcrumbs, and fresh herbs to prepare full of flavors stew. Another example of this cooking syle is Mussel Buzara, or stewed mussels.
Ingredients
- 1 kg Shrimps medium size
- 100 ml Olive Oil
- 5 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- ½ cup Parsley fresh, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Thyme dry
- 1 tbsp Basil fresh
- 3 tsp Bread Crumbs
- 1 cup Cherry Tomato diced
- 250 ml White Wine dry
- 2 tsp Rock Salt
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- Over medium heat, heat a large skillet with a lid. Stir in the breadcrumbs after adding the oil. Cook, uncovered until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and fragrant.
- Add the garlic, herbs, and tomatoes to the skillet. Bring the water to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes, uncovered.
- Add the wine, season with salt and pepper, and bring to boil. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with the lid. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the shrimp are fully cooked and the sauce has thickened. Overcooking the shrimp will result in rubbery shrimp.
- With tongs, remove the shrimp from the skillet and place them in a large serving bowl. Pour the cooking juices into the side bowl with the cooking juices.
- Serve with garlic bread
